• Can you create DWG files with advance steel that can be viewed with AUTOCAD without advance steel.

    Hello,

Models and drawings created by Advance Steel can't be opened in pure Autocad without at least an AS viewer license.
But, we can explode both the model the created drawings to simple, Autocad elements which will then be accessible to Autocad, even on systems that doesn't have Advance Steel installed.
For the 3D model, there is an FAQ describing the steps you need to do in order to export it : http://www.graitec.com/en/FAQ_view.asp?FAQID=555&Language=EN.
Drawing files can be exported from the Document Manager, using the Batch explode functionality. The drawing files are exploded in a dedicated folder, while the original files (AS files) are kept untouched. More information about this explode can be found in the on-line documentation : http://www.graitec.info/Common/Downloads/Documentation/AS-UserGuide-2010-EN-metric.pdf at page 153.

  • show ony selected objects

    Hello,

There is another method to do this action, which takes much less time, with the same effect over the AS objects :
    - select the object in cause
    - use "Reverse selection".
    - with all the other objects selected, use the function : Selected objects off.

  • WT connection

The request is already taken into consideration for a future release of Advance Steel. A new joint needs to be developed to allow the use of a single side T profile (WT beam) instead of the angle profiles.
  • Graitec added Conder structure Standards connections?<br/>

    Hello,

There isn't any Conder structure standard connection available in Advance Steel.
  • Creating an aluminium cap on the top and rebar through the bottom.

Yes, you can number the special parts and add them to BOM lists.
In order to create simple rebar objects in Advance Steel, you can create polylines to follow the shape, and then use Beam to polyline, while using a Round profile.
  • Creating an aluminium cap on the top and rebar through the bottom.

    Hello,

The semisphere type of cap plate required for the pipe bollards is not avaliable as an Advance Steel as a predefined object / macro. In order to obtain the required object in Advance Steel, you need to create it as an Autocad ACIS object, save it in a file which then is placed in your Symbols folder ( C:\ProgramData\Graitec\AdvanceSteel\2010\Shared\Support\Symbols ) and then add it in the model using the function : Advance Steel Special Part ( C:\ProgramData\Graitec\AdvanceSteel\2010\Shared\Support\Symbols )
But, this type of element can't be detailed in a single part / main part detail drawing. You can only add them to Overview type of drawing.
  • SP4 and autocad 2011

    Hello,

First, make sure that your drawing workspace is set on 2D drafting or 3D modelling. If you use the pre-set "Autocad Classic", then the ribbons won't be displayed.
Still, if you already have the Autocad ribbons on, but the Advance Steel ones are missing, check if they are checked to appear. For this, right click on any of the Autocad ribbons, and from the menu that appears go to "Tabs". Here is a list of all ribbons which can be displayed on the current Autocad session. Last ones in the last are the Advance Steel ones (they have the letters AS in front of the ribbon name). Check them.

  • Holes not available in shade mode.

    Hello,

Turn the quick draw OFF in order to display the holes while in shade mode. This button can be found on the Standard toolbar, and as default on Advance Steel 2010 SP4 its set on Quick Draw ON.

  • Additinal Arrow on Weld Symbol

    Hello,

This type of configuration (combining label or weld symbols with multiple leader lines) is available only from a drawing style. Manual labels and weld symbols can only be obtained for individual objects, without the possibility to combine the label.

    Regards,
    Dumitru Berteanu
  • Additinal Arrow on Weld Symbol

    Hello,

Can you please explain where this additional arrow should be placed on the weld symbol?
The leader line or the line beween the two symbols can't be modified, but the graphic for the weld symbol itself can be found in the folder C:\ProgramData\Graitec\AdvanceSteel\2010\Shared\Support\Symbols.

    Regards,
    Dumitru Berteanu.
