Error when I try to use a user template (Material List Summary)

The command on the fly-outmenu is a shortcut that accesses the “Create list” command followed by atemplate key. The default commands are created to use template from the 0category, which means "Advance". The solution is to modify the user interfaceand change the shortcut that button uses. This can be done by modifying theused CUI file.
To do this, you need toaccess the "Customize User Interface" dialog (by typing :"CUI" and press enter).
Here, go to :"Partial Customization Files / ASTCHECK / Toolbars / Sub - BOM". Inthis category, you can find a name for each of the buttons present on therespective fly-out. Go the button you need to change.
In the propertiessection on the right side of the dialog, you have: "Macro", whichcontains a value similar to : ^C^C_Astm4CommBomNew 75 0 . The textpart is the command the button calls, while the two numbers represent thetemplate key and the category. So, in this case this button use the template 75from the Advance category. Just change the template key and set the categoryfrom which your template is (0 is for Advance, 1 is for User). Save thechanges.
On the other hand,Advance Steel 2011 will bring a new feature called: Quick Documents, which is adialog that contains shortcuts to the often used drawing styles, drawingprocesses and BoM templates. This will allow the user to set exactly whattemplates he wants to see in it by simply going to BoM editor and checking thecheckbox associated to the respective template. This will eliminate the need tocustomize the user interface in order to set a button to use a specifictemplate.

This is done by using the command : Create list, located on the same fly-out menu as the other bom templates / editor. Name in dialog fields rename
Hello,The promps from this dialog can be modified from a database, string by string.The database is called : AstCrtlDb.mdb, and can be found in C:\ProgramData\Graitec\AdvanceSteel\2010\Steel\DataHere, open the table : ErrorMessages.The lines containing string text for the names present in the Advance Copy dialog can be found starting with line : 8676 -> 8709 (see attached picture). How to name views
Hello,Drawing Style Manager doesn't give a specific option to add or not a name to the views created by the Drawing Styles, but you can add one by using a text only label, forced to be displayed on a side of the view with the name : Front view, Top view etc.To add this type of label, please see the explication below made for a simple Single part - beam, Front drawing style.1. Go to DSM and pick a Single Part drawing style like : Sp - Beam, front 1:10 CX (Eng. International instalation).2. Go to the Front view / object presentation.3. Enter the options of the first model objects, which in this case is : "Beams".4. Go to "Labeling Strategy". Here, create a new labeling strategy named : Front view.5. Set the definition of the leader line to : "Text only".6. Create a new Content of label called : Front view.and set "used for" to - Beams.7. Configure the label text to : Front view - there isn't any token for this, you need to write the text as you want to get in on the created drawing.8. In Label arrangment, set :- Arrangement method : New arrangement method- Arrange strategy.: Enter its properties. Add a new : "Name of the label placing rule" with the name : Left. Then, Uncheck the first option : Arrange in object center, and check the last one : The total geometry must not be overlapped.In the arrangement of iteration steps, keep only one step with : Search area : LeftArea precent : 100Min / Max distance : 5 - 50.This arrange strategy will place the "Front view" text label on the left side of the view. If you require another position, just change the "Search area" field in the Arranger control window. -

Remove "Center punch" from the shop drawings
Hello,In order to remove the punch mark representation from a drawing process, you need to- remove the representation from the drawing styles used by the respective process.- use the drawing process from the same category as the modified styles / process that uses those styles.A drawing style modification is done in the "User" category, so the process that has to be used needs to be in the same "user" category. This means that you can't use the link buttons on the toolbars to start a process, as those will call it from the "Advance" category, and the process has to be started from Drawing Process Manager.Regards,Dumitru Berteanu -
