• Rail Ends

    Hello Alic,

It seems you have created a loop on the Hang off rail-Grab rail end instead of the Handrail-End of handrail. See the attached print screens they might help you achieve your desired results.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards

  • Spline Leader

    Hi Grigor,

    To change a standard leader to a spline;

    1.  Create your leader with text by entering "le" at the command line

    2.  Select it and right click and from the contextual menu choose Properties

    3. Scroll down to the miscellaneous tab and in the type field change the type to Spline with arrow or Spline without arrow

You can achieve the same by using the quick properties if it enabled. Alternatively, you can create a new style.

    1. Select the Annotate tab

    2. Select the arrow to the right on the bottom right of the Leaders panel

    3. Select New and name the new Leader style

    4. Select continue and on the Leader Format panel under the General change the type from Straight to Spline

You can customize the style further using the Leader Structure and the Content tabs

The new style is added to the field on the Annotate tab Leaders panel

  • concrete beam size

    Hi Dennis,

You are also able to customize the size of a continuous concrete footing on the Section & Material tab.

    1. In the Section window to the right, select the field to the right of the R1'x3'.

    2. A balloon will appear to the left of the field.

    3.  Input your desired dimensions within this balloon.

    4. Select the arrow to the left of the field to view your added dimension.

You can easily change the shape and type of material required by selecting the second arrow    from the left.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

  • How do I create a new plate thickness for folded plates

    Hello,

You have the option of changing the unit settings of the drawing from the Home tab Explore panel. Select the project settings and from the length unit panel you are able to change the precision. It is recommended that you keep the model units at 1/16 as the model will be too precise when you use snaps.  You would change the description by adding a free remark. For the bill of materials use variable. See screen shots.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

  • How do I create a new plate thickness for folded plates

How do I create a new plate thickness for folded plates? I use a lot of #12 ga plate for pan stairs and it is .075" thick. The closest thing I have found was 1/16" but I need it to be .075" with a description of #12 ga for the Bill of materials. Please advise

  • Welds in 2D Drawings

    Hi Mile,

The only way I found to have the weld type and surface shapes without the text is to remove the actual weld from the model. You also have the option to create your own symbols as blocks. I would select the symbol that is most used and explode it remove the text (1/4) and save it as a Wblock  for later use or create the symbol as a block within the drawing.

    Hope this helps,

    Best Regards,

  • Advance Steel 2015

    Hi Russ,

Autodesk Advance Steel runs is compliant with Graitec Advance CAD 2015 and Autodesk AutoCAD 2013, 2014, and 2015. If you have an earlier version of AutoCAD for example AutoCAD 2011 or 2012 you will have these issues. Also remember once you open a  AS 2014 drawing in with AS 2015 you will no longer be able to open it up in AS 2014 so make up a backup.

    Hope this helps,

    Best Regards,

  • Advance Steel 2014 Tool Palette

    Hi Russ,

The tool Palette has 8 categories:

Modify/Tool/Custom connections/UCS/Selection/Selection filters/Quick views/and Features.  You are able to add and move commands by selecting an icon and holding for a couple of seconds.

Red X, s will appear, from there select the icon and drag it to the Category you want. Press Esc to end the process or close the tool Palette and reopen it.

You are able to add commands by selecting the green+sign in the top left window. A dialog box will appear where you can name the command, insert a picture jpeg, png….to use as a logo and paste the command in the large window.

I have added the Clip angle to the Tool Palette by opening the Connection Vault then Selecting the Platform beams Category then selecting the Clip angle.

    1.     Copy the command for the Clip angle fromthe command line

    2.     Open the tool Palette and select any icon right click and hold until the red X appears

    3.     Select the green + in the upper left corner

    4.     Paste the command into the large field below

    5.     In the Name field enter Clip Angle

    6.     Take a print screen of the clip angel and save it as a .png, navigated to where you saved it

    7.     Select OK

Your Clip angle is added to the Tool Palette.

    Hope this helps,

    Best Regards,

  • How to make the user templates available for selection.

    Hi Sorin,

Again I do not know if someone has already answer you…

From the link you post in your previous comment, the user do not refer to multiple countries BOM he’s referring to the BOM on drawings I guess. Since we changed the BOM, the user category is not available anymore until you allow AS to use the old BOM on drawings. Please see my print screens attached.

I strongly suggest to use the new BOM on drawing instead of the old one. It is more efficient when you create the drawings.I will make sure that someone from the North-America team will also answer on the forum.

    Regards,

  • AS 2014

    Hi Greg,

I need more information regarding your issue. Could you please send a copy of the model and explain what type of connection you are using on the column along with what type of column section you are using…HSS or I. Perhaps the beam is slightly skewed to the right or left or the connection you are using is not suited for the particular sections. Again, send your model to Support.americas@graitec.com and we will work on it from our side.

    Best Regards,

    Janet
