I recently installed the Advance Steel 2016 and the problem I am having is that the program keeps crashing. Has anyone else had that problem. I was running AS2015.1 and no issues, it is when I installed the 2016 version that I am having this issue. There are other issues but this is the main one at this time. Thanks,Cruz

Hi Cruz,I need to find out what actions or commands you were using when you start to crash. I also need your computer specs. To find it you need to go to:1. Start2. Type dxdiag and select the enter key3. Select Save all Information buttonA text file will be created called DxDiag.txt.Please send this file to Support.americas@graitec.com We will look into your issue and investigate further.See attached for further information.Best Regards

Hi Janet,Thank you for the response. But I seem to have the issue. It was my external back up drive. This morning I was having issues trying to start the program and when I disconnected my external to work on my laptop, the problem went away. Thanks,Cruz

Hi Cruz,It is nice to see that you are up and running. I should of asked you if you were working from an external drive first. Best practice is to always save the model to your station and work on it from there and when you are done save it back to your external hard drive. Also work with your window maximized and rename the crashed model over the original to prevent further crashing. Never work on a model that has a crash extension with a minimized window from an external hard drive. Great recipe for multiple crashes.

Hi Janet, I was not working from an external. I was working from my local drive. The external was just connected so I can back up all my work when I am done. Apparently the computer it was connected to did not give an error message. It wasn't until I connected it to my laptop that I found this out. My laptop gave me an error message trying to read it. Well before I connected it to my laptop, I tried booting up my desktop and I get getting an error. I could only access the internet and nothing else. So when I googled the code, it came up as a Microsoft issue. So I shut down and connected the external to my laptop so I can work from it. Once I saw the error, I thought I would start my desktop again and that is when everything booted up fine and all programs I had tried opening earlier started opening with no issues. Now I have 2 new externals, one always backing up the entire system and portable one I can back up just the projects. Replaced the other 2 since they were up there in age. Thanks again,Cruz
