Depending on the size of the hole diameter, Advance Steel will define a hole as a hole (Block BO) or like a circular cut (Block SI) in NC-DSTV files.

To control this issue, you can go to the Management Tools and check the "Maximum holes diameter for NC" default.

In our example above, this default is set to "200", which means that if the size of the hole diameter is less than 200, the hole will be described in a BO Block (for holes), and if the hole diameter is exceeding 200 the hole will be described in a IK Block (for circular cut).
As a result, for the beam having a hole diameter 40 on its web, you will get such NC-DStV file content:
