I've defined the type and sections size and have gotten the pipe to work. I don't have Microsoft Access on this computer at this time but will be getting it in the near future. In the meantime, is there a way of viewing this database in the Table Editor in the Management Tools? I'm sorry I missed your call, I wasn't in the office at the time.

Hi Pascal,I've followed your directions, however the pipe are still not being exported to a KISS file. Is there anything else that can be done to solve this?

We've recently switched from Advance Steel 2015 to the
2016, R2 version. I haven't had many issues with the
program except one. When making a KISS file, none of the
pipe that I have in the handrails were exported to the KISS file.
I used the pipe shapes included with the release, none of
them are user created. We have a client that uses KISS files
frequently for ordering material and not having the pipe is a
hindrance to our work. Thank you in advance for the input.

That helps a lot. Thank you very much.

In the creation of detail sheets I remove and add dimensions as needed by our clients. Straight beams and columns I don't really need to do this often, but for stairs and handrails I do this more often. However, say for instance I have to change the model for some reason, client asks for it or new information is given that requires a change, so I change the model. That in itself is not an issue. The problem arises when I go back to the sheets and have to update them, either for part number or the actual detail. After the drawing update has been performed, either in the Document Manager or with the Update Detail tool in the Labels & Dimensions tab most, if not all the dimensions that I've added get removed and other dimensions added that were not there previously; making me have to re-do work that I've already done. This takes time and costs the company and the client money. Is there a way this can be prevented?

We have created the steel shape MC12x14.3, and the material A53, GR.B for use in a current project. When we exported the model data to a KISS File, both the MC12x14.3 section and material A53, GR.B were not exported. The parts using the MC section were not included in the KISS file, the parts using the A53, GR.B material were included but without the material specification. We're using Advance Steel 2015 for this project. How do we get our sections and materials that we create for projects to show up in the KISS file?

Since upgrading from Advanced Steel 2015 to 2016, no
customizations that we had made to the program in the
2015 version were carried over to the new 2016 version
of the program. Including the following:
1. Custom Parts did not carry over to the new version.
2. None of the dimensioning and title block
customization carried over to the 2016 version.
3. It appears that the 2016 version of the program will
not accept user additions to materials. We have tried
several time to add the pipe material “A53, Gr. B”.

I have created a User Section for use in Handrail design. However, when the handrail was created, the Other Sections, where the User Section Class is located is not on the list of categories. How do I add this section for use in handrails?

We are detailing a stair and platform for a building. We have the model complete, and are working on getting all the parts onto sheets. I've gone through the numbering and setting up MP and SP sheets. The only problem is that the handrails are not being given numbers other than their #internal2 number, and are not being placed on the SP sheets to update the original number. What are we doing wrong to not allow the handrails to be placed on sheets with their proper numbers?
