• Joining panels automatically together at the corners

    Hi Rob,

For better management and display of the intersection of concrete elements, Advance Steel provides the option for handling the priorities. These are designed both to interrupt concrete elements with different classes and create continuity between elements.

Please see this FAQ for better understanding of this functionality: http://www.graitec.com/en/FAQ_view.asp?FAQID=1078&Language=EN&Name=How+are+the+priorities+of+the+concrete+elements+managed+in+Advance+Steel%3F

  • Bolts & nuts display in the 3D model

    Hi,

For the current model you have you can use a Selection filter from the Tool Pallete for all bolts.(see attachment: selection filter.png) ---> right click ---> Advance Propreties ---> Display Type ---> Solids (see att: Display Type.png).

For a general setting you can open the Graitec Advance Manager ---> Settings ---> Defaults ---> use filter "representation type of the bolt" ---> select "Solids" (see att: representation type of the bolt.png) Restart Advance Steel for the changes to take effect.

    Regards,

  • Incorrect Weight Of Single Parts On BOM (plates)

  • Incorrect Weight Of Single Parts On BOM (plates)

The value of the weight is different in lists based on a defaultsetting, that can switch the weight calculation from the exact value (thattakes all the inner contours into consideration) - a value that is usually thesmallest one, up to a raw value of the smallest rectangular plate that includesyour plate, case in which the value is the largest you can get.

The default is called : "Calculation rule for plate areaand extension", found in Structured BOM/NC / General category.

In your case the value is set on "rubber banding".This is a special setting, in which :

    - the inner contours are not considered

    - the outer contour used to calculate the weight doesn’t 't haveany 90 degree corners. If you have a 90 degree corner, the rule creates an edgethat eliminates that corner, at 45 degree starting from the other end point ofthe shortest edge that enter the 90 degree angle.

I've attached a small dwg file in which I explain how each rulework. As you can see in the rubber banding case, I've kept the original contourwith a dash line (Grey), and on top of it you have the red plate thatapproximates the plate contour. If you calculate its weight, you will get 165Kg(note that I've also approximated the plate to give a rough idea how themechanism work. The plate I've made is not 100% correct).

We hope that thiswill answer your question. If you have any further questions, please don’thesitate to contact us.

  • I can not access my licence of Advance Steel.

    Dear customer,

We can recommend you two ways to activate your license:

    Method 1:

Open the License Utility from Start menu in windows:AllPrograms/Graitec/License Utility

    Select Return License

After returning the license try to activate it again.

    Method 2 (if Method 1 doesn’t work)

Open the License Utility from Start menu in windows:AllPrograms/Graitec/License Utility

Select Return License and return all your other licenses ifyou have ones.

Open folder: C:\ProgramData\FLEXnet.  To see thisfile please uncheck the option like in the attached picture.

Delete the file: GRAITEC_00436800_tsf.data     (some numbers may be different)

Activate the same license again, on the same computer, from the one you deleted the file.

We hope this will solve your activationproblem. If the problem persists please contact us.

  • Create a node detail

    Hello,

The node detailfunction can be used only in model space to generate a drawing.

The section/cut vieware usually used in assemblies or single part drawings while in this type ofdrawings you cannot create node details because in most cases the node elementsdo not belong only to one assembly.

If you want to detailnodes and  indicate their position related to the model I recommend you touse “camera at node” function available in the standard tool palette. For moreinformation check the following link with the AS documentation, pages 150-151 :http://www.graitec.info/Common/Downloads/Documentation/AS-User-guide-2012-EN-Metric.pdf

To display the camera position on a drawing, you needto make a general arrangement drawing in which you include an objectpresentation rule for Cameras.
