• Internal mark

The #Internal string appears in the object part mark as a temporary number for the numbering method you've chose : "With drawing number", as part of its mechanism. The workflow in this case is the following :
    - You first run a numbering on the new model. All the objects will get part marks with the #Internal text.
    - Then you run main part numbering, and single part numbering. At this point assemblies will be positioned on drawings that have a drawing number, and if the processes place more then one drawing per sheet - then the objects will also have a counter showing their position on the sheet.
    - You re-number the model with the same method. All the objects will now loose their #Internal mark and get a proper part mark, based on the drawing they are placed plus the counter value to differentiate elements placed on the same drawing.
    - After re-number, you need to check document manager to see if drawings require update in label, to match their new marks, and do it.
  • USER SECTIONS - DEVELOPED PLATE DRAWINGS

Development drawings can be created only from regular sections like RHS, CHS or folded beams, and not from User sections. So, if you need a specific shape modeled to which you need a development drawing, we recommand you to use the Folded Beam tool.
  • Section lines move when I update a view

If the drawings do not get update, then the symbols will remain at their place. For the Advance Steel 2010 version there is no workaround to avoid this from happening, and the symbols will always get moved. If you want to avoid this we recommend you installing a new version, where the issue was fixed.
  • Section lines move when I update a view

An improvment was made in Advance Steel to keep the cut symbol changed position during update in Advance Steel 2012, so in your 2010 version this issue is still present.
  • 3/8" rolled plate shown unfolded on a shop drawing

To show the unfolded drawing for the folded plate / folded beam you need to use a Develoment drawing styles. Those can be found in Drawing Style Manager, ussualy in the Single Part category (like in the attached picture)

  • What is the purpose of the "Issue" button in the Document Manager?

The issue drawings checkbox helps you to :
    - sort the drawing list inside Document manager, on the left side of the dialog. The issue drawings will not create a totally new category in DM - the drawings will still be in the Current or Update required category, based on the necessity.
    - the checkbox can help you to create a detail drawing list ( a BoM template list that display all the created drawings, case in which you can use the Issue Drawing parameter to either sort the list, display this information in the list and so on).
    - issued drawings can still be updated, if needed. If you made a modification the model that influenced an issue drawing, then it will appear normally in the Update Required category, and it will update if you choose to do the update to the whole category.
  • How does one remove revision clouds from an Advance Steel generated quick document?

The revision clouds can be removed either manually for each object already marked (option to turn them off is found in the detailed object properties dialog / Revision tab), or by turning off the Revision control default value from GAM / Defaults / Revision Control / Enable revision control.
  • Dimension Style

The fit text option inside the Dimension Style Manager is not taken into consideration by the Advance Steel dimension lines. The text will always be created inside the dimension , between the extension lines, except the case where there is no room - when the text will be moved outside and recieve a leader line if configured. This behaviour is correct, and currently can't be modified for the AS automatic or dimension lines.
  • Dimension Style

The inch mark associated to an Advance Steel dimension line can be turned off and on via a default value found in GAM /Defaults called : "Display of inch symbol". In your case, turn it on and then update the drawings for the modification to be considered.
As for the "side leader", can you please give me an example at what exactly is missing from the existing dimensions ? As far as I see, the drawing screenshot you've attached contains leader line for dimension texts that don't fit correctly between the dimension lines.
  • Section lines move when I update a view

If by section lines you reffer to the cut symbol position (the arrow cut symbol with the name of it attached), then those symbols should not move around during update, and keep their position (as long as their new position is on the same line as the cut direction).

If you reffer to the manual dimensions : then those normally do not move either. But to further investigation your situation, we'll need the model and the drawing which contains those dimension lines that change position. Also mention the Advance Steel version used.

As a workaround you can try to set the following default on Off before updating the drawings : Erase incorrect manual dimension points on update, from GAM / Defaults / Drawing - Dimensioning / General
