  • Check which joints belong to a joint group?

    Hi Pete,

To check which joint belongs to a joint group:
    1. First create the Master joint and put a name that is unique. The name is not greyed out.

    2. Create a slave joint using the Create joint in a joint group tool located on the Toolpalette>Tools.

    3. To create the slave joint, select the master joint you created first then the column you want to apply the connection to. What ever change you make to the Master will reflect in the Slave. The slave joints will receive the same name as the Master, however the fields will be greyed out.

To search for the MASTER joint in a joint group use the filter tool located on the Tool palette> Selection category. The MASTER joint is highlighted in red.

To search for the SLAVE joint in a joint group use the filter tool located on the Tool palette> Selection category. The SLAVE joinst will bel highlighted in red.

See attached file for searching Master and Slave Joints

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Janet

  • Document Manager - Model Object Deleted

    Hi Jerry

When you erase an object from a model that has already been detailed you will get a cautionary notice warning “Model object deleted” when opening the Document Manager. The objects that have been deleted are displayed below the name of the drawing. Select each one to see the object that was deleted. See attached document.

If you decide you want to keep the changes select the Update required notification and then select force update to the right of the window to accept the changes. Additionally if you want to keep a record of the changes you can select Update Revision.

You can delete the Model object deleted folder along with the Unknown folder.

If you chose Update Revision the changes will be created and a revision mark (A) will follow the drawing name.

    Hope this helps,

    Best Regards,

    Janet

  • Can anybody help about how to find out weight of any component in Advance Steel?

    Hi Jigar,

To find the weight of any component in Advance steel:

    1.Select the component

2.Select Center of gravity and total weight calculation on the Extended modeling tab Checking  panel

If nothing is selected the entire model will be calculated, however if you just select a component only that component will be calculated.

    See attached screen shots.

    Hope this helps.

    Best Regards,

    Janet
