  • Connection - tapered beam

Hi Michael,I have done some tests on my side and it works using the column macro however this is not the case for the Tapered beam.Unfortunately this is a bug and it has been documented and sent to the development team. As workaround, you could use the existing AS features & commands to create the connection separately. See attached.Best regards,Janet

  • Problem with insert the block and edit the macro

    Hi Tony,

I did some test on my side and used the ribbon Export & Import tab. I selected the Block panel and chose Insert, where I was prompted to navigate and select the drawing I saved.  All seems to work well.

Check your file of type when inserting.

    Best Regards,

    Janet

  • In the BOM on the assembly drawing it shows blank in the _x000D_ profile section._x000D_

    Hi Clinton,

Advance Steel allows the user to choose the behavior of a compound profile such as split profiles.

The default is that the compound profiles behave as one profile. This behavior is available in lists, drawings and numbering.

During numbering, the compound profiles in Advance Steel behave in 2 ways:

    1.     As one profile (compound profile) and it will have one number.

The behavior as one profile involves receiving a single part mark number (1002) and an assembly number (2). The single part number will appear in lists and drawings as the number of the compound profile. Also the representation type of the compound profile must be "Complete".

    2.     As split profiles - depending on the number of profiles that define the compound section - 2, 3, 4, etc.

The behavior as split profiles involves that the numbering proceeds as follows: each one of the profiles that define the compound section will receive a single part number and the same number for the assembly mark. For example, the assembly number is 1 and the single part numbers are 1000 and 1001. Also the representation type of the compound profile must be "Separated".

See attached PDF for more info.

Are you using the BOM Editor to create your lists. Is it list on drawings. Try and modify your tokens in the report content to get your desired results. You could try and create a new extract.

If you have any further questions please contact support . It would be my pleasure to d a gotomeeting with you.

    Best regards,

    Janet

  • I'm getting consistent errors with my model and i've tried all of the troubleshooting steps

    Hi Angie,

Remember when you model in Advance steel you have to be persistent in modeling your elements form left to right. Proper procedure dictates that you should always try and have your system line at the top of the beam and in the center of HSS items.

Run an audit checking for your project. You can use the AutoCAD tool Overkill to remove any duplicate objects, lines ....from your mode.

If this does not solve your problem, copy (Ctrl+shift+C) and paste (Ctrl+V) the model into a new drawing of the same template. Make sure your orientation corresponds.

Save this model over the problematic model. Never work from a drawing that has crashed always save as, and overwrite the original.

    I hope this helps.

  • Create rebar shape

    Hi Cruz,

I have compiled a step by step of a way to use round bars to represent rebar.

You will essentially have to create a new user_section for the size your company uses on a regular basis.

The step by step will show you how this is done. The changes will be reflected in your  AstorProfile 2015.1 mdb databases, numbering, sections, as well as your BOMs.

    Please see attached zip file.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,

    Janet
