• Problem with change /add material to a model after installing AS 2017.

    Dear Cruz,Are you talking about converting your 2016 AstorBase.mdb to AS 2017 or are you referring to changing the material of one element in Advance steel 2017.     Hello Tre,In reference to your first question regarding joint data and loads, unfortunately joint data and loads cannot be displayed on drawings however the joint name can be displayed. As for Anchors being detailed as single parts, not they cannot.I have attached a link to assist you in the creation of the Anchor.     Hello Chris,To import A307 bolt using the Advance Steel Management Tool (ASMT)1. You will need to call your Graitec support agent and have them email you a zip file of the A307 bolt.2. Once you receive the zip file, save it to an appropriate location and extract it. You will see the format.3. Open your Advance Steel Management Tools (ASMT).4. Select the Bolts category. After selecting the expansion arrow to the right, select the A307 from the list. You need to import the bolt. 5. Select the icon at the upper left “Import bolts” icon. 6. Navigate to where the A307 bolt was extracted select it and hit Apply.7. Navigate to the A307.mdb file and select hit Apply and from 8. Select the Defaults Category then hit Load settings in Advance.   • Grating Treads Not Showing in Stair Details

    Hi Thomas,To get your grating treads to appear on the shop drawings you need to add that element to the drawing style you are using. Follow the procedure below and let me know how it works out.1. Open your Drawing style Manager from the Output tab.2. Select the Drawing styles button 3. Select the 6-Stairs and Railings >Stair Assembly at UCS4. Select the Objects presentation. A window is displayed where you can add the new object presentation.Select the Add a new object presentation icon to the left of the red x.A new row will be added to the bottom of the window. 5. Select the expansion arrow to the left and add the Grating. To view the gratings select the values below.• Model Object is Grating• Geometric restraints is All• Depth position is Any• Presentation is visible hidden or Visible HatchVisible if you want to see the hatch• Labeling : Off or any other6.     Hi Tre,• Open the ASMT Advance Steel Management Tools• Go to Settings>Defaults• Select Use filter and type Incorrect in the filter field• Select Drawing –Dimensioning and highlight General• Uncheck Erase incorrect manual dimensions on update• Select the icon to the top far right “Load settings in Advance”Go back to your model and select Update Defaults from the Manage tab.Open your Drafting settings:• Select the Objects Snaps tab and disable all your object snaps except the Endpoint, midpoint and Node.• Clear all the objects Snaps on the 3D Object Snap panel.• Select Preferred for Manual Dimensions on the Steel Osnap tab.NOTE: You can insert or remove dimension points to or from a chain of dimentions using the Insert point tool on the Labels & Dimensions tab on the Parametric Dimensions panel.Save and close the drawing then repeat Updates and the dimensions should stick.See attachment below for a step by step.I hope this helps.Best regards,Janet

  • Error in the Drawing View

    Hi Russ,If you install the Autodesk Advance Steel 2016UR2 update this should solve your issue regarding the error. As for your drawing styles, all information is coming from your AstorAddins.mdb. Replace this AstorAddins.mdb with a co-workers without the issue.Please find attached a video on how to install the Autodesk Advance Steel 2016UR2.I hope this helps.Best regards,Janet
