• Bom Units question

Currently the lengths in the BOM read 20'-1/2" is there a way to change it to 20'-0 1/2"?

    Thanks

  • Another BOM problem

Model objects I have listed as "not used for numbering" in this case is a Bolt, is given a single part mark of "-1000". This mark shows up on the BOM. I want to list the bolts but not number them. Is there a way to stop the BOM from showing the "-1000"?

    Thanks

  • BOM Problem

I created a new BOM starting with an existing one and modifying it. Under the "Detail" header I have a text box with a field content of "Length" which was previously the length field in the BOM I started with. On the BOM in the dawings the length shows as "1" which is not the length of the material. I noticed down in the summary in the BOM editor for that feld, the "Summary Type" is "Page Count". All the other fields in the Detail header shows as "None". Changing the summary type to "None" in the length field changes the field Content list to "User Text". I change the field content to "Length" and the summary type changes back to "Page Count". I also tried creating a new text box from nothing and get the same problem. The original BOM does not have this issue.

  • Single part numbering

sorry. It was "Assembly group" =)
  • Single part numbering

I think it was "with drawing number". I'd go look but the 30 day trial is expired.
  • Exporting CAM data

-UPDATE- there was nothing wrong with the NC files generated by Advance. What had happened was, I had made a user section of a guardrail (which the NC data was not supposed to be used) and the locations for where the mounting holes are required to be caused a .nc.err file to be generated, I suppose the holes were not meeting minimum edge distance to the bent faces. Anyway, we all saw that and knew we weren't going to use the data anyway so we just ignored it. But the guy running the FICEP loaded all the files anyway, and it was stopping on the .nc.err files and proceeding no further in loading the remaining files. So deleting the .nc.err files solved the problem. Everything appears as though it will work fine.

    Thanks

  • Single part numbering

Using the "with drawing number" method the single parts are currently labeled "a-001". Is there a way to drop the "-" so the single part reads "a001"?

    Thanks

  • Assigning codes to Bolts, Nuts and Washers

We will be able to extract the codes from the washers and bolts when we add it to the name as Valentin suggested. We will use a filter in Excel to do this by preceding the code with a "~".

As a side note, if we decide to purchase this software, would it be possible to submit a request to have user attributes assigned to the nuts and washers, as stated in my original question, for future releases?

    Thanks

  • Exporting CAM data

The Machine is a FICEP running a software called ARIANNA. It will accept files with the extensions of fnc, pcs, nc, nc1 & txt.  We have tried the nc and the software will not read it. We tried changing the extensions to txt and nc1 and it still would not read it. We also tried the DXF export but there is no option for reading DXF. We have a guy coming out to check the machine and we will see if we are doing something wrong on our end. Please let me know if there are any known conflicts between the two softwares.

    Thanks

  • Dual Dimensions

I think there is a bit of confusion so I have attached another screen shot to show what is happening.

Using a new active style to make the AS dimensions called "DSC_DIM_STYLE1_DUAL", I set the "Placement" to "Below primary value" then created the AS dimension as shown in the attached JPG. The Alternate Dimension appeared after the primary dimension instead of below, like I had chosen. I then created a ACAD dimension using the same active style ("DSC_DIM_STYLE1_DUAL") and the alternate dimension appeared in the correct location below the primary dimension. The option to pick the "Below primary value" only seems to work with ACAD dimensions and not with AS dimensions.
