• Tables

Will we be able to, in a future version, link an MS Excel spreadsheet to a table like we can in AutoCAD?

  • Measure command

When using the measure command to get points along a line or a beam, the beginning sometimes starts at the opposite end of where i am selecting. Is there a way to fix this?

  • Osnap suggestion

One thing I miss about the AutoCAD version that I would like to see in AdvanceCAD is the "Mid between 2 points" Osnap option.

  • Exploding drawings

I assume that by "2D Modeling" you are refering to the shop/detail sheets, so I will post my question here.

When we explode our drawings for our customers, all the dimension tick marks and weld symbols removed from our drawings and put down in the lower left corner at a much smaller scale. We then have to scale them up by a factor of 25.4 and move them into the proper place.

Does anybody else have this issue?

    How do we fix it?

  • Defaults saved in a new profile

We tested switching the profiles. If one person switches from profile 1 to profile 2 to start a new project, everybody's default switches also regardless. So, yes, it does affect everybody else. That could be problematic if numbering tolerances are different from profile to profile.
  • Defaults saved in a new profile

In the Advance Steel FAQ is a topic "How are all the defaults saved in a new profile" where new profiles can be used at the beginning of a project. Does the new profile stay assigned to a specific project? If I start project "A" with profile "1", then start project "B" with profile "2", will I have to switch back to profile "1" to work on project "A"?.

Also, we work with our databases rerouted to a central server. If one person switches profiles, does it affect everybody else?

    thanks

  • Suggestion for Dimensions

A suggestion for dimensioning with the arc dimension tools is have the "group equal dimensions" and also the "broken dimension line" options. thanks

  • Another Suggestion for Railing Macro

Thanks for the reply. I was trying to do that on a concrete wall and a slab where I would always get a "operation aborted". The concrete beams work nicely.

  • Lineweight

if you mean for plotting, try the plot style table where you can assign lineweights by color
  • Another Suggestion for Railing Macro

It would be totally awesome if the railing could be attached to the concrete sections like they are to the beams. :)
