Output documents - visibility problem
Hi,
I have also had this problem on a couple of different models. The generated part/assembly drawings are unreliable on which lines are shown hidden or full, and with no way that I can see to change individual lines manually, it's a problem. If a guy in a workshop has a mitred angle section to make, he's going to look at the hidden lines to orientate it.

Bim viewers
Is there no way of exporting a useable dwg, ifc or cis/2?
The options are there in the program, the outputted files just don't work properly.

Bim viewers
What Viewer do you recommend for people in our organisation who do not have Advance Steel installed.
We used to use Tekla's Bimsight for our outsourced Tekla models but now we do our own Advance Steel modelling in house we need a viewer.
I have tried opening the dwg, ifc and stp files I have generated but none of them open or are useable in Bimsight.
The dwg will not open correctly in Autodesk Trueview or Dassault Draftsight either.

Alastair

How to create a Spiral Beam
Hi,
New user resurrecting an old thread.
I am pricing a job with a curved ramp so I would need to create a spiral plate stringer.
I am using Advance Steel without a standalone AutoCAD license, can the Advance steel CAD engine draw Helix's (helices?) to then convert into spiral plates?
Or could I create a spiral stair with the correct width and radius, explode it and just keep the stringers?
How would I then form the deck plate of the ramp.
I have attached a cross section of the ramp.
Thank you
