• Positions of the Labels on the Drawing - Outside the Parts Not Working

Seems that each method has strong and weak sides.

I think that if you play a little with "based on angle" method, you cen obtain better result. This method is checking for each step, if there is a space to place the label in the defined angle and the distance range. If you have big max. distance, the strategy goes under one angle until the max. distance. If there is not enough space for the label, it goes to the next step - next angle. Try to decrease max (eventually also min) distance and reduce number of steps to have bigger difference in angles.

For some details you can check also guide for drawing styles - http://www.graitec.info/Common/Downloads/Documentation/AS-DSM-guide-2012-EN.pdf

    Cheers :)

  • Positions of the Labels on the Drawing - Outside the Parts Not Working

    Hi Nenad,

There are 2 different methods for label arrangement strategy. For selected drawing style you can find them in the bottom part of the dialog for "Labeling strategy". First one is "based on area" (old method) and the second is "based on angle" (new method). The difference is in the way, how is the position of label found. In the attached picture I can see that the method you use is "based on area". You can try the one "based on angle", which is newer and also has option "not to overlap total geometry". If the problem persists also with new method, let me know and I will ask Autodesk, if there is any solution.

  • Dimensions Overlaping in X-Y Direction

    Hi Nenad,

Unfotunately there is no option for the behavior you require in the current version of AS, maybe there will be some improvement from Autodesk in next versions.

For attachments, the requirement to attach files in single archive is still valid, please attach files in the required form also in future. I forwarded to Graitec also your other comments to forum functionality.

    Regrads,

  • Dimensions Overlaping in X-Y Direction

    Hi Nenad,

You can switch-on the default "Allow leader lines for dimensions" - see also attached picture, I use CZ version so I don´t know the exact name of default now. I didn´t test it for case like yours, only I know that it is working for overlaping texts in one dimension.

  • Use just a numeric part from numbering, without a prefix.

    Hi Nenad,

I asked for option to use VBA script or to split the name and prefix, but I can definitely confirm that it is not possible,

Regarding project data - they cannot be used for labeling objects, here only object properties can be used (project data camn appear in drawing titleblocks, BOM headers, ...)

Anyway, it seems that the issue is moving towards the alternative solution (different to modify exploded BOM) :-)

    Cheers,

    Marian

  • Table Changes Position in Exploded Drawing

    Hello Nenad,

I made few test with your templates and the behavior was correct after I deleted purple lines from them, templates contain only objects type "ASTBOMTEMPLATETEXT". Try if helps only deleting lines. I made also some other changes, like move objects to layer "0" or purged the template dwg.Let me know if you succeed.

    Regards,

    Marian

  • Use just a numeric part from numbering, without a prefix.

    Hello Nenad,

I am still checking for options howto do it. Can you attach the example model (or justa a part of it) with numbering you use and also your BOM template?

    Regards,

    Marian

  • Labels - Main Part

    Hello Nenad,

Unfortunately option that you need is not available in AS at this moment. Autodesk accepted this as the request for the development.

  • Labels - Main Part

    Hello Nenad,

I checked for the option, but I didn´t find any - I asked Autodesk support, if I receive answer, I will let you know.

There is also option to label objcts that are not visible in the drawing, maybe this workaround could help you: http://www.graitec.com/en/FAQ_view.asp?FAQID=520&Language=EN&Name=How+is+a+part+that+has+no+visible+edges+labeled%3F

  • Use just a numeric part from numbering, without a prefix.

    Hello Nenad,

As far as AS objects have their numbers only in one  variable ("token"), it is not possible to automatically split the item number in seprate infoemations to use in BOMs. Maybe the good way to obtain the requested behavior is to define prefix (I suppose this is the problem of too long number) in another property, such as lot, name, free remarks... In the BOM you just use corresponding tokens to fill the table automatically. This can be correctly set also for labels on drawings. But I don´t know how strict rules of your contractor, and where else, except the documentation, the numbering according to fixed rules must appear.

Regading VBScript - What do you expect to have in labels? It is possible to use tokens from the model, which are available and change color, thickness, spacing, etc. I suppose that options are limited in AS.

    Regards,

    Marian
