• How to get Anchors on lists?

For the new anchors to appear in BoM lists, you need to add a new content to the template definition.
Contents are added by right clicking on the template in BoM editor tree view and selecting Report Contents. Here, check : "Anchors" and "Anchors on site".
  • Exporting CAM data

    Hello,

You can export CAM data through a series of commands that will generate CAM files based on the manufacture ( Hi-Span, Metsec etc.). Those commands are found on the AS BOM&NC ribbon (for AS 2010) or AS Documents (for AS 2011) - see attached picture.

  • Accurate Assembly weights?

    Hello,

When a BoM template is configured, we can choose between two different tokens when describing the object weight. One of them will show the exact weight, by taking into consideration holes or inner contour features, while the other token will describe the object weight by ignoring those features, and just considering the outer shape of the object. The template used in those lists present in your drawings are configured to display the "Weight" and "Weight in model" for the object, which fits in the second case - the weight is calculating by ignoring any inner contour features or holes. In order to obtain the exact weight, you'll need to configure the list with the token : "Exact Weigh"t and "Exact Weight in model".
Information about how to modify a BoM on Drawing template can be found in the following FAQ  : http://www.graitec.com/en/FAQ_view.asp?FAQID=625&Language=EN

  • Handrail behaving strange

    Hello,

Please mention the steps done to create this handrail, cause we couldn't reproduce the problem after deleting the existing one and recreate it, by  choosing the outer stingers and rafter as support beams in a succesive order, and then choosing the start and end point off the railing by respecting the same order from the beam selection - the handrail was created correct without the gap in the middle rail.

  • How to convert databases from Advance Steel 2010 to Advance Steel 2011?

    Hello,

The transfer of Advance Steel databases from a older version to the latest one is done by using the "Merge database" command avaliable in the Management Tools. Here, you are asked to select the source database, which in your case it will be the AS 2010 one. The AS 2011 one is automaticlly considered the one already installed, so the function will not ask you about it.
You can merge any database except one : AstorAddIn.mdb. This database that stores the custom made settings in various areas like Drawing Styles or BoM templates doesn't support merging, and in order to use it with Advance Steel 2011, you'll simply need to copy over the existing one and overwrite it.
