is there a way to connect a horizontal beam to a tapered
column with a shear plate that is parallel to the tapered
column?

Hi Michael,I have done some tests on my side and it works using the column macro however this is not the case for the Tapered beam.Unfortunately this is a bug and it has been documented and sent to the development team. As workaround, you could use the existing AS features & commands to create the connection separately. See attached.Best regards,Janet
