We are attempting to set up a communication between our design office and that of our fabricator where we only use 3D models. They use Tekla and we use Advance Steel 2018. We can send them the model (without any connection details, only structural members) which they can import into their Tekla software and manipulate it, i.e. do the connection details. We then would like to get that detailed model back, however when importing their *.ifc file, we only get members, no connections or bolts.
Can anyone give us some pointers to assist with this please? I found a thread on another discussion forum where it is mentioned that one needs to select Xsteel as the origin during the import process, however we do not have that option on our AS installation...
I will appreciate any assistance with this.
