Change holes to 7/16" for 3/8" bolts

When using a type 1 (grating) stair tread the smallest tread
mounting hole is 9/16" for a 1/2" bolt. How do i change the
holes to 7/16" for 3/8" bolts which is how our stair treads
come?

Hi Dan,You can request the 3/8" bolt from support and in turn they will send you the A307.mdb file. You can add this to your AstorBase by following the stepsbelow:TO IMPORT 3/8 ASTM 307 BOLT USING AS MANAGEMENT TOOLSAfter receiving the zip file from support, save it to your desk top and extract the file. Open your Management tools>Bolts select the icon at the upper left Import bolts.The 38 ASTM 307.zip or 38 ASTM 307.rar you received from support should be extracted to the format A307.mdb.Navigate to the A307.mdb file and select it. Your 38 ASTM 307 bolt should be imported.See step by step PDF attached.I hope this helps.Best Regards

Thanks Janet, but that still doesn't make a 3/8" bolt an option for stair treads. The bolt diameters listed are 1/2" through 1 1/2" I've never seen anything except 3/8" stair tread bolts, and I can't imagine the need for a 1 1/2" stair tread bolt.ThanksDan

Hello Dan,The hole diameter is linked to the type of bolts you are using. Technically if we updated your databases to include A307 3/8 bolts the hole size should be good.Regards,

Is this something that will be added to the program in an update? If not, we need the 3/8" diameter bolt for stair treads also. As Dan stated, this is a very commonly used bolt size for stair treads.
