I am trying out using the soil layers in the settings for spring supports; I seem to get huge variations in stiffness with quite small changes in the layers. Do you have guidance on this?

Secondly, how do I find the support results for a planar support? I am testing out a retaining wall design and want a planar support under the toe and to check bearing pressures. This would also be useful for raft foundations.

Hello

We now have an FAQ to explain how the stiffness is calculated for the soil layers:

To select support results you need to go to "Results settings" from the Analyze menu (or Results toolbar). Select the type of result from the drop down list on the left (deflections, forces, stresses, torsors) and select  "support" or "planar support" from the available options in the left hand window and tick the required degree of freedom (eg "FZ")
