We recently did a job where two different parts
were labled with the same single part number.
Both parts are plates, and are similar in thickness
but their shape is different. I tried to manually
change the number in the Advance Properties
dialog box, but when I did this the part numbers
for both parts changed. This is the first time in
the few years we've been using this software that
we've encountered this problem.

I'm including the model with this question,
hopefully it'll help figure out what has happened.

Dear Lawrence,After further investigation on our side we found the two structures to be identical. We also used the tool difference between two objects and all selections don produced identical parts.See Attachment. Please advise us on which part, Component, element is different.I am including the model that was checked.Best regards, Janet
