Can you please explain this request better ?
Is the problem referring at the weld symbol that doesn't appear in drawings?
  • Bevel weld missing

    Hello,

Joints that don't provide the weld type control from inside the joint dialog, allow the user to change the weld type by accesing the weld properties dialog (right click on the weld symbol in the model and choose : "Advance properties"). Here you can change for a weld all the parameters that are not available in the joint dialog, without interfering with the joint.

  • Problems to access AdvanceSteel2010

    Hello,

With what Autocad version are you trying to start Advance Steel? AS starts with the last used Autocad, so if for example you open Autodesk Inventor LT2010, close it and then start AS, it will try to use this Autocad to run. Currently this platform is not supported by Advance Steel. In order to run AS with a good Autocad version, after installing Autodesk Inventor LT2010 and using it, start your usual Autocad on which you used to run AS, and then start Advance Steel.

If this doesn't solve the problem, please send us additional information about what error are you getting together with a picture of it (you can attached pictures here, on the forum, by using the button : "Attach file" when doing a new replay).

  • How to add a new diameter in the bolt assembly ASTM A307?

    Hello,

To add a new diameter to a bolt assembly, you need to open Management Tools and go to : Bolt editor.
    - go to "Bolt assembly"
    - search your assembly and open it till you find the diameters available.
    - right click on any diameter and press "Copy". From the copy window that appears, select the diameter you need (in this roll-down dialog you should have available all bolt diameters that can be created in AS, without any restriction).
    - after confirming the new diameter, you can configure it as required.
    - the diameter will be created with a blue color in the tree view - this means that its not saved. After configurating it, press on "Save in database" to load the new configuration in the database - the colour will change to black confirming it.
Note : a bolt assembly uses a bolt in its configuration. When creating a new bolt assembly diameter as in this case, you need to make sure that the used bolt has this diameter avaliable in its configuration. If it doesn't have, you can either change the bolt used to one that has, or create the new diameter in the bolt configuration aswell. To do this, in the same bolt editor go to the category : Bolt (first in list). Here, search for the used bolt (information that can be found in the bolt assembly category / Bolt tab ) and go to the avaliable diameters. Right click on a diameter and copy it (as you did when creating the new bolt assembly).  The bolt will be created with the lenght of the copied one, but you can change this by deleting/adding new lenghts, and making other configurations like bolt head dimensions, weight or part name.

  • Load our own section profiles & joints into the Advance Steel library

    Hello,

To add new profiles in the database you can use the "User section" feature which is described in the on-line documentation :AS User-Guide 2010 EN-metric pages 119 - 121.
Referring to joints, you can "add" a joint by of the following two possibilities :
    1. Create a joint from scratch. This can be done by using the "user connection" feature, described in the on-line documentation (link above) at page : 109.
In addition, you need to make sure to place the UCS when you want to insert the saved connection in the same relative position you had it when the connection was exported.
    2. Use an already available connection from the Advance Steel connection vault. Configure it with your parameters and then save it in the joint library. This will make available the configured settings for other cases where you use the same joint, on similar profiles. The joint library is described in the on-line documentation, at page 98.

  • How to change the dafault sections that appear in command 3-Hinged Frame

    Hello,

The default value needs to have the following format : Perfil VP Properca#@§@#VP120.
The Type name text for your VP profile is Perfil VP Properca. To find out this name for a profile, you can access AstorProfiles2010 - table : ProfileMasterDatabase. Here, look for your profile and check its name in the TypeNameText column - this value should be used to configure the mentioned default section for a structural element.

  • Configure the preferred size for Gratings

    Hello,

You can't remove gratings from the list without actually deleting it from the database, but you can choose what proffered sizes you want for the grating element, sizes that will appear in front when accessing the roll-down menu, while the other ones will be in the "All" category, not visible by default but with the option to access them if needed.
In order to configure the proffered size, you need to open "Management Tools" and go to the tab " Proffered sizes". Here, select the languange - Standard - Grating. You can choose the preffered sizes indivudually for Standard grating and Variable grating. The configuration is made by checking the left box corresponding to a grating type.
This preffered sizes configuration is avaliable to other elements as well, like beams, bolts, plate, shear studs and welds.

  • How to change the dafault sections that appear in command 3-Hinged Frame

    Hello,

As the profile is a user section added locally by the user, please send us his AstorProfiles2010.mdb database. You can find it in the following folder :

    C:\ProgramData\Graitec\AdvanceSteel\Data  (Windows Vista / 7 )

    C:\Document and Settings\All Users\ApplicationData\Graitec\AdvanceSteel\Data (Window XP).

Arhive it using WinRar / WinZip before attaching, as its size is quite big.
