Note: This FAQ is an addition to the existing FAQ "How does a castellated/cellular beam or a beam with openings appear in details, BOM and NC files?"

A castellated/cellular beam is considered already fabricated when it is modeled and detailed. Using a default drawing style, for example "Sp – Beam front, top, bottom 1:10 CX" to create a single part detail, the specific openings are also dimensioned. Usually, those specific dimensions should be eliminated and only the new cuts (features) or holes should be dimensioned.

How to configure a single part drawing style for a castellated/cellular beam?

The unnecessary dimensions can be manually deleted, or a new drawing style can be configured to display the dimensions of the outer cuts (features) and holes from bolts.

In order to configure a drawing style, open the "Drawing style manager". From the "User" category, an existing drawing style can be copied using the "Copy" option from the contextual menu obtained by right mouse click. For example select the "Sp – Beam front, top, bottom 1:10 CX" drawing style and copy it under the name "Sp – Castellated Beam front, top, bottom 1:10 CX". In the "Detail title" tab, you can delete the "Length" token, because the compound name consists of the name displayed in the properties window and the length of the beam.
