For large structures, the final cost is important.
Before the detailing part begins, an estimation of the steel quantity can be done.
In Advance Concrete, this is done by performing the following steps.
From "Advance Project Preferences" select "Weight review":
The reinforcement quantity can be evaluated for the entire structure or by category, for example by level (foundation, level 1, level 2, loft).
If the quantity is being estimated for the entire structure, you can enter the weight, in tons, in "Weight estimate".
To estimate by segments select "Add" and enter a name (for example Foundation).
Click OK.
In the list, "Foundation" appears sorted by steel grades and then by diameters.
Or:
There are 2 situations:
2) A more accurate detailing is necessary for quantities of each diameter and each steel grade. The same thing will be done for all the levels.
During the detailing process, the structural elements will be attributed to each level.
As an example we will use the drawing of a column from "Level 1".
While creating the reinforcement drawing, in the "view parameters" section, there is an option to assign an estimated segment.
Select "Level 1" from the drop-down list and click Finish.
If the assignment to a category is not done from the beginning (during the creation of the drawing) you can enter afterwards the drawings properties and select "Level 1".
Enter "Materials Quantity manager" to view the real steel quantity.
Or:
Select "Weight review".
A document will be generated.
In this case, the steel quantity from the column is only 0.07% of the total quantity estimated and 0.04% of the estimation for the first level.
This property is useful especially for large structures.
