Very often, on most formwork drawings, annotations are needed for every structural element. In order to ease the reading and understanding of a formwork plan, it is necessary to have annotations created on the same side of the structural element.

How can annotations be created on the same side of the structural element?

If the user does not pay enough attention when the structural elements are created, it is likely that the annotations will not be placed on the same side of the structural element (beams, walls, continuous footings).

In most cases, manually moving the annotations is not a good solution because it is time-consuming.

In order to align the annotations on the same side of the structural element (for this example – beams), the elements must be created in the same direction and it is necessary to make them straight. In the above figure, the beams are apparently vertical because during the creation, different snap points were chosen.

The annotations for these two beams are on the same side, because the beams have the same direction (indicated by the beam extremity labels) and during creation the same snap points were chosen (center).
