Advance Concrete software provides the option to create a large variety of bar supports.
Bar supports can be created using the "Create a bar support" function on the "Advance Reinforcement" toolbar.
For this example we will consider that we want to add bar supports to a beam. First, we need to create a reinforcement drawing.

How are bar supports used

Before placing bar supports on the formwork, we need to customize its properties. We have to choose the structural element for which we want to create the bar supports.

Based on our selection, Advance Concrete will display only certain "Code / height" shapes that will fit to the chosen structural element. For a beam, only a few types of elements (Beam Bolster BB, and Beam Bolster Upper BBU) will be available.

On the command line we are asked to choose between defining the bar supports by start point and end point, or by choosing the formwork as a reference.

After we have placed the supports on the desired formwork's side, we can edit their position. If we edit the first Spacing dialog box, the row of bar supports will adjust its position in relation to the "start point". Conversely, if we edit the last Spacing dialog box, the row will adjust its position in relation to the defined "end point". The middle Spacing dialog box allows us to change the spacing between each bar support.

If the chosen bar support is too short, its height can be easily edited by using the button next to "Code / height " or input it manually.

If you want the same row to be counted in a list multiple times, you can input a multiplication factor by editing the last dialog box on the smart bar.
