How to extend Windows Virtual memory allocation up to 3 gigabytes on computers with 32 bit Operating System?

This procedure is valid for Windows Vista and Windows 7 (32-bit operating system)

1. Disable UAC (User Account Control).

For Windows Vista - Control Panel -> User Account -> Turn User Account Control On or Off and uncheck the box.

For Windows 7 - Control Panel ->User Accounts and Family Safety -> User Accounts -> Change User Account Control settings and decrease the level to "Never notify".

2. Restart the system.
3. Click Start, select Run, and enter cmd and click OK.
4. On the command line type: BCDEDIT /Set IncreaseUserVa 3072
5. Restart the system.
