How can I migrate from the 2010 to the 2011 network license?

Situation:

• You have a network license for Advance 2010 installed on the server workstation.
• Being under maintenance, you have received the 2011 DVD package and the entitlement for 2011 network license by e-mail from GRAITEC and you would like to start using the new version.

Note: Advance 2011 network license uses a newer version of License Server software that is delivered on the 2011 DVD. Since the new version does not prevent you from using Advance 2010, uninstall the previous version of License Server. Otherwise the network license cannot be activated.

To activate the 2011 network license on the server workstation perform the following steps:

Before starting, close the active Advance sessions.
From the Windows Start menu, select Programs > Graitec > License Server > License utility and proceed as follows:

In the License Utility dialog box, select Return server license. Click Next.

In the next dialog box, select the application for which to return the license. Click Next.

The next dialog box displays the confirmation message. Click Finish to complete the process.

If your computer is not connected to the Internet, you can use the Offline procedure described in the Installation guide.

From the Windows Start menu, select Programs > Graitec > License Server > License utility and proceed as follows:

In the Server License Utility dialog box, select Activate a server license. Click Next.

Step 2 of 3

Enter the serial number and the activation code. Click Next.

Step 3 of 3

Your computer contacts the activation server at GRAITEC; the license rights are written in the database. The activation server receives the information and processes it. After clicking Finish in the last dialog box, the network license is activated.
