Starting with Autodesk Advance Steel version 2015 version, elements default properties can be modified from the Management Tools. This provides a full and intuitive library in a new interface.
The defaults library is accessed from the "Home Tab", "Defaults" category.
After accessing the "Defaults" category, a tab is automatically created at the bottom of the Managenet Tools window. This tab contains selected categories, to help find default values. Each category includes well structured sub-categories, and when one of them is selected, the defaults are automatically displayed.
For a quick understanding and perception of the default value's meaning, a tooltip is displayed near its name, in the "Property Name" column.
The tooltip is available by placing the cursor over the default value's name.
Some default values contain, besides the tooltip, additional imagines designed to clarify their meaning.
The defaults can be located faster with the help of the filter option. For a more precise filtering, the text type can be selected (Short Text, Long Text, Short and Long Text). The defaults are automatically filtered, and only the ones containing the searched text are listed.
The defaults can be modified in the "Property Value" column, by checking the corresponding box or by filling in the desired values.
After modifying the defaults, the "Load Settings in Advance"option is used for validating them in Autodesk Advance Steel.
The defaults can be changed before opening Autodesk Advance Steel or while the software is running.
