The new multi-document approach in Advance Concrete is recommended for easily carrying out large projects. The main principle of this work style is assigning external DWG drawings to each formwork/reinforcement plan in the project, separately from the master model.

A specific set of commands, dedicated to this new option, have been put together in order to offer flexibility and a faster workflow for the user.

One of these commands is called "Unlink DWG" and it is used to detach a view from the master model. Thereby, the user can perform changes and elaborate on the respective view without affecting or involving the model or other views contained in the project. Also, changes made in the model will no longer be reflected in the detached view.

The command can be accessed from the "Manage" ribbon, on the "Advance Settings" tab:

Applying "Unlink DWG" opens a window containing a list of all the views that are currently connected to the master model. After selecting a drawing name and clicking the "OK" button, the external DWG file is disconnected from the model. Also, a specific icon is assigned to the view in Pilot. The unlinked view cannot be opened from Pilot anymore and changes made in the model do not have any effect on it.

The unlinked view can now be moved/copied to a new location; there is no need to transfer the model and the other views together with it. The data it contains can be processed independently.

When needed, the view can be re-attached to its original master model, by using the "Link DWG" command.
