How can we organize the structural elements in Systems and Subsystems

For better control over a structural model created with Advance Design, the user can organize it in systems and subsystems. The structural elements can be sorted in different subsystems depending of the type or position inside the structure.

The systems and subsystems can be declared for each structural level or for each element type (for example, see the following figures).

Many times, when modeling the structure, the user forgets to select the correct system for certain structural elements. When the modeling is done, there can be some misplaced structural elements (for example, the columns from Level 2 can be placed in the first level slabs subsystem).

The issue can be resolved easily using different methods:

1. Using the Drag & Drop function, the user must select the misplaced elements and drag them into the correct system.

2. When certain structural elements are placed in different subsystems, and the user wants to organize them in a single subsystem, the elements must be selected and the "Move" command used (from the "CAD Modifications" or by pressing the < HOME > button).

The structural elements must be selected (on the CAD area or by selection criteria Alt + S) and the move command can be run; the "Translation" option must be selected and the vector value must be zero; also the "Destination system" must be selected and the user must select the subsystem into which the structural elements must be moved.

The command must be validated by clicking OK.

To verify that the structural elements were moved into the correct subsystem, the subsystem must be selected by clicking it in the "Pilot" and the SPACE or ENTER button must be pressed. The structural elements inside the subsystem will be selected.
