Bill,
It appears you need to turn off the Broken dimension line. Go to your DS manager to the dimension line you added. In the "View Dimensions" click on the Settings box in the dimension you need to fix. In that dialog is a check next to the Broken dimension line. Uncheck this and it should put the line in. Also, if you want that dimension centered change the Linear, ordinate to Linear, relative. This will also put the line in as well as center the dimension for you. Hope this helps.
