When doubler plate is used in moment connection, width of doubler plate is required to input manually. The value is normally a=L(beam/column height)-2x(K distance +1 1/2). This option is available on" Knee of frame bolted, with haunch" connection on page 24 of Advance Connections Guide 2010 & why we shouldn't have in Moment Connection?

Hello,

We've added this request as a feature request to improve the Moment Connection macro and include the respective formula in the width calculation for the double plate stiffner.

Hello Greg

We already have this option, the only difference between the 2 connections is text from the dialog box.
In the moment connection the option is called "T-distance".
To make a test choose a column do the connection, put the option "T-distance" and keep in mind the value from "5.Value" than change the size of the column and check again the value from "5.Value" it will be different.

Valentin Dumitru
