What Viewer do you recommend for people in our organisation who do not have Advance Steel installed.

We used to use Tekla's Bimsight for our outsourced Tekla models but now we do our own Advance Steel modelling in house we need a viewer.

I have tried opening the dwg, ifc and stp files I have generated but none of them open or are useable in Bimsight.

The dwg will not open correctly in Autodesk Trueview or Dassault Draftsight either.

Regards,

Alastair

We recommend exporting the model in DWF format (BIM Centre Ribbon>DWF Export). This can be opened in a free viewer called Autodesk design review (link below – click the ‘download now’ button midway down the page)

Is there no way of exporting a useable dwg, ifc or cis/2?

The options are there in the program, the outputted files just don't work properly.
