I have been struggling with this issue for a long time. Today with the great help from Philippe Bonneau found the correct way to remove AS objects from external drawing. The procedure is the same as was posted on July 3rd 2008 except it was missing one line. Bellow is what I did & it worked perfect for me.
Procedurefor removing AS objects from external drawings:
1-OpenAdvance Steel.
2-Click on “RemoveAS objects from external DWG files” icon located at “Additional tools” toolbar.
3-Select thedrawing you want AS objects to be removed.
4-Open thedrawing.
5-Say YES toremove AS objects.
6-CloseAdvance Steel.
7-Open plainAutoCAD. (Don’t open any drawing).
8-At thecommand line type demandload & set the valueto 0 (zero), normally the value is 3.
9-Now openthe drawing which AS objects were removed.
10-Save thedrawing.
11-ExitAutoCAD.
12-Re-open AutoCADwithout any drawing.
13-At thecommand line type demandload & set the valueto 3.
14-Now open previousdrawing. It will be opened without AS objects.
