Is it normal to have weld symbols floating in space in my model?
When the symbols (cluster of pluses) are double-clicked, the weld parameter dialogue box opens. Sketch attached.

Dear Sir,

These welds symbols floating in the space in your model might come from :
- A wrong copy
- The fact that you deleted elements but not the welds between these elements

I recommend you to follow the procedure below to see if the welds are still connecting any elements (and which ones):
- Go to the “Tools palettes” > Selection
- Press “Display connected objects” icon
- Select one the weld symbols and press Enter => the elements connected by this weld get marked (and become red-colored)

Remark 1: to remove the red color given to the marked objects, press “Clear marked objects” icon

Remark 2: to find welds which are welded nothing or just an element, you can go to AS Tools > Steel construction technical checking => this tool will list (in the command line) “Welds do not connect anything or connect to only one element!”

Regards

Philippe
