Numbering over a model made of external references

Thank you,

When we devided our model into segments,external
references was recognized as assembly,

and we could not performe numbering.How we can
performe numbering for whole structure,

and how to recognize external references as a single part
element,not as assembly?

Each model will be numbered separately. Bringing all the parts together as external references is useful only to have a global view of the entire structure, but for numbering and detailing, you need to treat them separately.
