Defaults saved in a new profile · Graitec Advantage

In the Advance Steel FAQ is a topic "How are all the defaults saved in a new profile" where new profiles can be used at the beginning of a project. Does the new profile stay assigned to a specific project? If I start project "A" with profile "1", then start project "B" with profile "2", will I have to switch back to profile "1" to work on project "A"?.

Also, we work with our databases rerouted to a central server. If one person switches profiles, does it affect everybody else?

R1. No, you don't have to switch to profile 1, unless you want the default values specified in profile 1 be applied.

R2. No, it doesn't

We tested switching the profiles. If one person switches from profile 1 to profile 2 to start a new project, everybody's default switches also regardless. So, yes, it does affect everybody else. That could be problematic if numbering tolerances are different from profile to profile.

Hello Mr. Brooks,

I am not aware of your company status, I mean do your databases or based on a server or they are local on every machine? Of course if your databases are on a server switching from one "Profile" to an other, will make everybody change at the same time. If you want, we can reconfigure the "DatabaseConfiguration.xml" file, allowing few databases to be read from the server and keep the one controlling those "Profile" to be read Individualy.
