Users of Advance Steel can customize the Ribbon menu with the commands that they require. Start Advance Steel and type "CUI" (Customize User Interface) on the command line.
In the "Customization" menu extend the "Ribbon" branch, right click on the "Tabs" branch and choose "New Tab". Enter a name for the new tab.
In the "Transfer" window (1) transfer (drag and drop) the new tab into the custom file (2). Save the new file in any folder (3). It is recommended that the file name is the same as the name of the new tab.
Look in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Graitec\Advance Steel\2010\Steel\Support\Images
Copy the "AstBasic.dll" file in the folder with the new CUI. After copying the file, rename it to match the name of your CUI file.
In Advance Steel open the "Load/Unload Customizations" window using the "CUILOAD" command.
Find the CUI profile and load it into the group using the "Load" button. After the window is closed, a new tab will be displayed in the menu.
Note: In Advance Steel, every command menu has a corresponding .dll file, which contains the attached images of the commands of a menu. The link between the menu and the .dll file is made with the name. For example, for the joints commands the "AstJoints.dll" file is used.
The commands will be added in the panels. To create the panels use the CUI command. In the "Panels" branch right click and create a new panel.
In each panel add the desired commands. A panel can have multiple rows of commands.
From the commands list, select a command and drag and drop in the desired panel and row.
After you drag and drop all the commands, select the "Transfer" tab.
- From the panel branch, the commands will be transferred to the Tab branch.
- Save the profile and click "Apply" to load the new modifications.
Note: For the changes made in the "Customization Main Page" main file to appear in the custom file, they must to be added trough the transfer window, and the profile must be saved and applied.
Note: Any row above the "SLIDEOUT" separator will be displayed in the panel, and everything that is arranged under the separator will be hidden. This separator can be placed by inserting it to the desired position by drag and drop.
