For some structural elements (walls, beams, footings, columns), Advance Concrete provides the option to assign a label. For example, if we have an architectural plan with three kinds of columns, D50, C50 and R25x50, we can automatically re-label them using the "Re-label elements" function from the "Advance Tools" toolbar or by typing "grtclabelstructurals" on the command line.
To prove this function usefulness we will assume that one column from each type is reinforced with a reinforcement style (circular, rectangular). Whether you choose to type the command or just click the icon on the "Advance Tools" toolbar, you will have to make a selection of the elements you want to be re-labeled.
After you have made a suitable selection, you must choose a suffix, a separator, and a prefix. You must pay attention to whether you select any of the comparison functions. For example, in the above architectural plan there are three types of columns, made from the same material and with the same length. If we check "Section / Thickness" function, Advance Concrete will assign each class of columns different labels.
In order to see one column's label, we have to go to its properties, on the "Automatic reinforcement" tab.
Next, we will select the reinforced column, and we will create its reinforcement drawing. In the reinforcement drawing properties, on the "Title" tab we must check the "Use the reinforcement label to group elements" function because Advance Concrete will create one drawing for all columns that have the same label.
If we create a list for all the bars from this drawing, the list will be created for all the columns that are similar with the one for which we created the drawing.
